My name is David Powner I was born in Wolverhampton and studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Stourbridge Art College, before embarking upon a career as an in house artist for West Midland Safari Park, where I combine my passion for wildlife with running a busy art and design department.
My first tentative pencil sketches as a child were of birds and animals, this love for wildlife has stayed with me ever since.
One of my favourite birds, a pair of Bullfinches for a friend of mine painted in gouache and pencil.

A new post for the year and about time to. The Nuthatch is one of my favourite birds and this particular piece was painted for an exhibition at the Quay Gallery Bewdley.
